The Velvet 28 is the third in line for the Velvet series. I knew it would only be a matter of time after Lensbaby released the Velvet 56 followed by the Velvet 85 before they created a wider angle Velvet!
As a photographer who loves macro my first images with this wide angle beauty were close-up. Imagine using this 28mm lens for macro! Yes! You can get in as close as 2" to your subject with this lens. It has the same velvety glow as the other Velvets! The depth of field ranges from f/2.2 to f/22. Lots of blur or no effect at all. It's like have a creative and prime lens in one!
Yes, it can shoot macro but it can also do a beautiful job with landscape photography! I recently went to the OBX and have some stunning sunrise and sunset images using this amazing lens!
Many of the images in this gallery are abstract work. As I push myself to create a more varied portfolio, I've been enjoying using my Lensbaby lenses for a variety of genres!
The Lensbaby Velvet 28 currently starts at $549.95 USD.
